AK Khan & Company Ltd, a Chittagong-based business conglomerate, has appointed Asif Bhuiyan as its new group chief executive officer (CEO).

Before joining AK Khan & Company, Khan held several leadership roles in leading multinationals like LafargeHolcim, Unilever and British American Tobacco, according to a press release.

With more than 26 years of diverse experience across industries and geographies, he has a proven track record of fostering growth and delivering business results.

He began his professional journey at British American Tobacco in trade marketing and distribution function, where he laid the foundation of his distinguished and illustrated career.

He later joined Unilever and his pivotal appointments were customer marketing director for Bangladesh, country manager for Lebanon and Syria, head of customer marketing for Maghreb Business based at Casablanca and senior audit manager for Singapore.

Recently, he served as the marketing director and then chief corporate affairs officer at LafargeHolcim Bangladesh.

He obtained his bachelor's degree in economics and did an MBA from Aligarh University in India.
