Young Tigers thrash Pakistan to set up final against India

A dominating all-round performance helped Bangladesh to a seven-wicket win against Pakistan the first semifinal of the Men's U-19 Asia Cup in Dubai today, setting up a mouthwatering finale against India on Sunday.

The pacers set up the victory for the defending champions as Iqbal Hossain Emon claimed 4-24 while Maruf Mridha took two wickets.  Al Fahad and Debasish Sarkar Deba also picked up a wicket each as Pakistani were dismantled for 116 runs in 37 overs Bangladesh had opted to field first.

For Pakistan, Farhan Yousaf made the highest score with a run-a-ball 32 while Mohammad Riazullah scored 28 runs.

Bangladesh lost both their openers -- Kalam Siddiki Aleen (0) and Zawad Abrar (17) -- early in their chase but in-form skipper Azizul Hakim Tamim added 57 runs with Shihab James for the third wicket to take them close to victory.

Although Shihab fell for 26, Tamim continued his good work with the bat and struck an unbeaten 61 off 42 balls to guide Bangladesh to the victory target with 27.5 overs to spare and seven wickets in hand.

In the second semifinal, India thrashed Sri Lanka by the same margin.
