10 tourists injured as vehicle plunges into ravine in Sajek valley
At least 10 tourists were injured after a four-wheel drive carrying them plunged into a ditch in Rangamati's Sajek upazila this afternoon.
All the injured are receiving treatment at Khagrachari Sadar Hospital, said Kanak Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Sajek Police Station.
The OC said the vehicle carrying a group of tourists overturned and fell into the 30 feet-deep ditch in Sajek House Para area in the afternoon. All the passengers were wounded in this incident.
With the help of security forces, the tourists were sent to Khagrachari Sadar Hospital, he said.
Of the injured, the physical condition of Jakir, Arfan, Sabuj, and Saiful Ujjal is critical, said police.
Sources said the tourists came to Sajek from Savar and Dhamrai of Dhaka, and Brahmanbaria.
