Cold wave over Panchagarh

A mild cold wave is sweeping over Panchagarh, with this morning's lowest temperature, 9.4 degrees Celsius, being recorded in the district's Tetulia upazila, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department in its weather projection for the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00am.

Meanwhile, Dhaka's minimum temperature was recorded at 13 degrees Celsius, the bulletin read, adding that day and night temperatures around the country are expected to rise by a couple of degrees.

The BMD bulletin, in its five-day weather outlook, stated that light rain or drizzle may occur in the northern parts of the country at the beginning of the period. Additionally, both night and day temperatures are expected to drop towards the end of the period.

The weather is expected to remain dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky. However, moderate to dense fog may occur from midnight to morning, continuing till noon at some places, as per the bulletin.

Air navigation, inland river transport, and road communication may be temporarily disrupted, while the cold may persist in some areas due to dense fog. Wind direction and speed in Dhaka will be west-northwesterly at eight to 12 kilometres per hour.
