The 23rd Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) commenced last Saturday (January 11) to showcase 220 films from 75 countries across 10 categories. This year the festival includes 44 Bangladeshi films.

Scheduled to run until January 19, the festival will feature screenings at various venues, including the National Museum, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka Green University of Bangladesh Auditorium, and North South University.

The closing ceremony, which will be held on January 19 at the National Museum, will be attended by Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki.

Today, audiences will be treated to an exciting array of films, including Srijit Mukherji's much-anticipated "Padatik," which pays homage to the legendary Mrinal Sen. The festival, with its slogan "Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society," aims to offer a platform for cultural exchange and cinematic excellence.
