Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has signed a two-year deal with Dour, a local sportswear manufacturer, as the official kit sponsor of Bangladesh men's and women's football teams.
The announcement was made at a press conference at the BFF House today. BFF vice-president and marketing committee head Fahad Karim and Dour owner Abid Alam Chowdhury signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
"It's a new era of partnership. This is a small but meaningful achievement in our [new committee's] first four months," said Fahad.
"It is a two-year deal but the BFF has the right to review the contract after one year. I can say that we are going to save at least Tk one crore per year which we earlier spent for the kits of the national football teams."
Dour owner Abid said: "I am very thankful to BFF president Tabith Awal for giving us the opportunity to work with them. We started it from a point of passion and our aim is to earn global recognition for our local brand."
According to the agreement, Dour will provide all necessary kits for both the men's and women's national teams, however, all details of the contract are yet to be disclosed by the BFF.
Thanking the entire executive committee for completing the sponsorship deal, Tabith said that the kit sponsor will also sell national teams' jerseys for fans in the coming days and the BFF will get royalty from the sales.
