Army arrests 390 people in one week

The Bangladesh Army has arrested 390 individuals during a series of nationwide joint operations conducted from April 10 to 17, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order across the country.

Various units under the army's infantry divisions and independent brigades carried out the operations in coordination with other law enforcement agencies in Dhaka and several other parts of the country, according to a statement from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Among those arrested are listed terrorists, known criminals, robbers, extortionists, fugitives with multiple warrants, muggers, members of juvenile gangs, drug dealers and addicts, and human traffickers.

The army also recovered 10 illegal firearms, 46 rounds of ammunition, narcotics, locally-made weapons used in criminal activities, stolen mobile phones, laptops, foreign currency, and cash. The detainees were handed over to the respective police stations after preliminary interrogation and legal processing, the ISPR said.
