Dhaka to host ‘Nrityasudha’ for International Dance Day

In celebration of International Dance Day, Dhaka is set to host a special dance extravaganza titled "Nrityasudha" this Monday evening. The event, organised by Nrityam Nrityashilon Kendra, will take place at 7pm at the Bangladesh Mohila Samity auditorium.

According to a press release issued by  Nrityam Nrityashilon Kendra, the evening will feature performances by both acclaimed and emerging artistes, showcasing a vibrant blend of local and international dance forms.

The event has been curated by renowned dancer Tamanna Rahman, who has assembled an impressive lineup. 

Taking the stage will be Belayet Hossain Khan and his troupe, Munmun Ahmed and her troupe, Kabirul Islam Ratan and his troupe, Proma Avanti and her troupe, Tamanna Rahman and her troupe, as well as Yang Hui and her team.

The fifth instalment of "Nrityasudha" promises a rich array of classical performances, including Manipuri, Odissi, Bharatanatyam, and Kathak dance styles. Adding a global flair, dancers will also present special compositions where Bangladeshi choreography meets foreign instrumental music.

Audiences can look forward to experiencing a kaleidoscope of international dances, including Korea's traditional fan dance, Germany's folk dance, Japanese classical dance, Hawaii's spirited hula, and Nepal's vibrant traditional performances.

Highlighting the international spirit of the evening, Yang Hui will lead a showcase of Chinese traditional and contemporary dance forms.

Tickets for the event can be collected in advance at the Bangladesh Mahila Samiti premises.
