Unpublished exam results at JU
It is surprising that some teachers in Jahangirnagar University are taking an inordinately long time to check answer sheets and submit results. Should it take nine months to check answer papers? Reportedly this is due to their preoccupation with classes at private universities and other income generating activities. The plight of the students completing their undergraduate course is even more compounded, for without the published results and the certificate, they cannot apply for a job or further their studies.
It cannot be lost upon the teachers that delay in publishing results put the students' future at stake. The situation is even worse given that only recently JU has lost many academic days due to a prolonged imbroglio over the appointment of the VC. If teachers show a lackadaisical attitude in performing their job, what lesson will they be imparting to their students? We appeal to the sense of propriety of the respected teachers and urge them not to put the future of the students on hold. Also, we strongly believe that a timely intervention from the Vice Chancellor will help ameliorate the situation.
