Countrywide 10hr blackout
The whole country plunged into the worst blackout in seven years on November 1 as a malfunction in Bheramara power plant snapped the Bangladesh-India transmission line, triggering failures throughout the national grid.
The government committee formed to probe the nationwide power failure could not find out exactly what had caused one of the longest and widespread power cut in the country.
In its probe report submitted to the power, energy and mineral resources ministry on November 7, it cited low voltage as the main reason behind the nearly 10-hour power outage.
