The newborn baby who miraculously survived a fourth-floor fall after he was allegedly dropped from a flat by his teenage mother in Dhaka on February 1 died this afternoon.

The boy died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital around 12:30pm, Khawja Abdul Gofur, assistant director (admin) of DMCH, told The Daily Star.

Reason behind his death could not be known immediately.

A day after his birth, the baby was allegedly dropped through the window of the flat, wrapped up in a plastic shopping bag. He survived after falling on the rooftop of a nearby tin-shed building.
The 15-year-old mother, who works for an elderly couple, delivered the out-of-wedlock child in her employer's house with the help of a woman, who also works for the couple, police said on that day.

A video filming the rescue of the baby floated in the social media, causing an outcry.
