30 injured in Narayanganj building fire

At least 30 people were injured as a fire broke out in a four-storey building in Fatullah upazila of Narayanganj this evening.

Seven of the injured suffered burns. Five of them were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with 35 to 95 percent burn injuries, Partha Sankar Paul, a residential surgeon at DMCH, told The Daily Star.

The other suffered minor injuries while rushing out of the building, reports our Narayanganj correspondent. 

An explosion took place following an alleged electric short circuit, causing the fire on the ground floor of the building around 6:30pm.
