LITTLE INFERNO
Little Inferno isn't a game in the conventional sense. It could be called a fireplace simulator.
PLATFORMS:
Wii U, Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, iOS
RATING: 8/10
This game has to be a pyromaniac's dream come true. On a micro level anyways. You order different objects by post (in game), you receive it after some time and when you burn it, you get more money from burning it than how much the object cost you. I'm not the brightest apple in the crayon box but it sounds like the spirit of consumerism is strong in this game.
Everything burns in a different way and it's not necessarily realistic. Batteries go boom. Marshmallows scream and jump about. School buses panic, crash and burn. Oh well. You know how "some people want to watch the world burn"? Guess what? You can do that here too! A world, anyways.
Little Inferno creates a perfect environment for the story to take place at its own pace. The sense of humour will always keep you amused. The description for Fragile Bulbs reads "Causes more puncture wounds than the next leading brand." It has the music to set the right mood. This game is perfect for a cold winter night alone with some hot chocolate and warm bread. Though it'd be nice if combos showed you something funny or special every time you managed to get one.
Little Inferno was developed by Tomorrow Corporation but the art in is reminiscent of that seen in World of Goo. That's because the artist (and composer) for Little Inferno, Kyle Gabler, also designed World of Goo.
Verdict: Therapeutic and a good change of pace from goal-oriented games
