The Lakeshore Hotel and Apartments had celebrated the Bengali New Year at its La Vita Hall. The key attraction of the programme was the elaborate cultural show highlighting some distinct aspects of the New Year celebration. 
The central theme of the event was about upholding the ideas of syncretism and assimilation -- values intricately linked with the celebration of Pohela Boishakh. The festival began with the signature song of the day, Tagore's 'Esho he Boishakh'. It was followed by a variety of songs portraying Bangladesh culture. 
The ambience of the hotel had given its guests a flavour of rural tradition. At the entrance of the hotel the guests found a makeshift rural vegetable market, featuring local vegetables, bangles, bioscope, etc. 
The price of the buffet lunch was Tk 1422++. The menu boasted various local delicacies -- from green mango 'sharbat' to 'bhortas', 'shutkis' and 'shorshe ilish' to 'bhapa pitha'.    
Kazi Shamsul Haque, Honorary Consul General of Kyrgyz Republic in Bangladesh was the chief guest of the event. 
Lakeshore hopes that the celebration of Pohela Boishakh will play an important role in educating our younger generation as the well as the foreign guests about the rich culture and history of Bangladesh.
