Police arrested two leaders of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) in Jalashi area under Panchagarh municipality on Saturday night.

The arrestees are Tofael Prodhan, 29, general secretary of ICS district unit, and Amirul Hasan, 24, office secretary of the unit.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team arrested the Shibir leaders when they reached Jalashi area in Panchagarh municipality, riding a motorbike at around 10:00pm.

Police said the two were wanted in cases for torching two buses and AL offices in Panchagarh Sadar upazila on March 2.

Police yesterday produced the Shibir leaders in the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, seeking a five-day remand.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Abul Hasnat Md Abdul Wadud fixed April 22 for hearing the remand prayer and send them to jail.
