IGCC features Mitali Banerjee
Indira Gandhi Culture Centre is organising a musical evening by Mitali Banerjee from India at 6pm today (March 4) at the IGCC Gulshan premises.
Mitali Banerjee was initiated into music at a tender age by her mother, the late Mayarani Bhattacharya. Later, she trained under Shefali Roy and Asit Kumar Sen, among others. Her training received an impetus with legendary Nazrul Sangeet singer late Biman Mukhopadhyay.
She has learned Hindustani classical music under Pandit Samaresh Chaudhury. An enlisted artiste of All India Radio, she has completed Sangeet Visharad in Nazrul Sangeet and Hindustani classical vocal music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti of Allahabad and Sangeet Bhushan in Rabindra Sangeet from Prachin Kalakendra of Chandigarh.
