Gold worth Tk 1.25cr seized at Dhaka airport
The preventive team of Dhaka Customs House seized six gold bars, weighing 2.5 kilograms, from a plane at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital last night.
Tipped off, that several gold bars remained concealed in the flight of ‘Regent Airways’ coming from Singapore, the preventive team conducted a search at the aircraft and recovered six gold bars from under a seat around 11:40pm, said Rezaul Karim, assistant commissioner (customs).
The market value of the gold pieces is Tk 1.25 crore.
However, none was arrested in this connection.
