Quake rattles live TV show
Two live TV shows – one in Bangladesh and the other in India – caught the moment of panic as participants rushed out of the set when aftershocks jolted the capital twice early afternoon yesterday.
Video footage of a live program on Ekushey TV captured how the tremor left the host and her guest, singer Beauty, panic-stricken.
As the nervous presenter was trying in vain to hold her composure with the set shaking, Beauty said, "I'm feeling very scared".
The next moment Beauty was seen dashing out of the set while the host, finding no other way, abruptly ended the show.

After he pointed it out, some participants opined they should leave immediately for a safer place. But as they continued their debate with the host suggesting they should wait, some participants rushed out. Another one was seen taking off the microphone.
Another video footage from a Channel 24 report showed how panic also gripped law enforcers in the capital.
The report featured Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia who, sensing the tremor, jumped to his feet abruptly and left a room hurriedly along with other police officers at the DMP Media Centre during a briefing about the security deployment for the upcoming city polls.
