Beijing university to introduce Bangla dept

Beijing Foreign Studies University in China is going to introduce Department of Bangla in the coming year.

A two-member Chinese delegation team led by Prof Dr Ma Lin, Deputy Director of the university, informed the decision to Dhaka University Vice-chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique at a meeting today at Dhaka University (DU), says a press release.

Prof Arefin assured of all possible support and cooperation after the team sought cooperation from DU authorities for introducing this department. They also agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding in this regard soon.

The friendly ties between Bangladesh and China would be strengthened further in the days coming through this initiative.

Other member of the delegation was Yang Wei Ming, Coordinator of Bangla Service of the Chinese International Radio and DU Pro-VC (administration) Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain were also present in the meeting.

The matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs by the both university were also discussed in the meeting.
