MESSI'S magical moment
Lionel Messi changed last night's Copa del Rey final in 13 seconds on Saturday night with what will most likely go down as the goal of the season. Another majestic performance from Lionel Messi put Barcelona on the brink of becoming the first team ever to win the treble twice as they put Athletic Bilbao to the sword 3-1.
And just as with Guardiola's sides, the catalyst has been Messi, with the addition of Neymar and Luis Suarez allowing him the extra freedom needed to be even more deadly.
The Argentine struck twice, including a sensational individual effort to open the scoring, either side of Neymar's tap in.
Messi's moment of magic came in the 20th minute.
Messi collected the ball at the half-way line and stopped for a second, before making his move. As Messi dribbled forward, Mikel Balenziaga, Mikel Rico and Benat Etxebarria blocked his route towards goal. However, Messi dribbled through them like they weren't there, with trademark feints and a nutmeg, before turning inside Aymeric Laporte and smashing the ball in Iago Herrin's near post.
Even by the Argentine's incredibly high standards the move and finish was as good as any of his previous 410 Barca goals.
“We're used to this Messi. We're lucky to enjoy him every day in training, when we see him wriggle away from three challenges before shooting. His first goal was from another galaxy,” Luis Enrique said.
