Egyptair to operate Dhaka-Cairo flights from Nov 1
Good news for the Bangladeshis who want to see the Pyramids in Egypt as the direct flight between Dhaka and Cairo is set to begin on November 1.
Egyptair, the state-owned airline of Egypt, will initially operate two weekly flights between Dhaka and Cairo, Haytham Ghobashy, Egyptian ambassador to Dhaka, said at an event at InterContinental Dhaka today.
With the starting of flights from November, this is a milestone in the bilateral relations between the two countries," he said.
The embassy in association with Egyptair, Air Cairo and ALO Dhaka Aviation arranged a ceremony for local media and different stakeholders, including travel and tour operators, businesses to celebrate the beginning of the bilateral air connectivity.
"Egyptians has a high regards for people of Bangladesh and soft corner and they are very inclined to visit this country. It was before a long journey with several hours of transit stoppage. Now everything will be easier," he said.
About 25,000 Bangladeshis fly to Egypt annually before the pandemic and there are over 25,000 students enrolled at different Egyptian universities, especially in Al-Azhar University in Cairo.
