BSF detains 5 Bangladeshis in Assam
Five Bangladeshi nationals were detained in northeastern Indian state Assam's Dhubri by the Border Security Force along the border with Bangladesh on charges of entering the country without valid papers, a BSF official said today (August 29, 2022).
The Bangladeshi nationals were detained by the 45th Battalion of the Indian border force at Shishumara in Mankachar yesterday (August 28, 2022), reports our New Delhi correspondent quoting the BSF official.
The five were identified as Suraj Miah (27), Jahidul Islam (25), Zahidul Islam (30), Abdul Salam (25), and Maidul Islam (25), all of whom are residents of Haripur village under Sunderganj Police Station in Gaibandha district of Bangladesh, the BSF official also said.
They were handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) after a flag meeting between the two border forces, he added.
