Coronavirus outbreak: India announces 21-day lockdown
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tonight announced a 21-day lockdown across the country from midnight tonight to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
Addressing the nation over television, he said the three-week lockdown would be tougher than curfews.
During it, people should not leave their homes, with the move aimed to "break the cycle of coronavirus transmission."
The virus has already affected 519 people in the country and left ten dead.
