Mushy okay, will play SL
Good news and a sigh of relief for Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim has been ruled out of danger after he was hit on the right thumb during practice at Melbourne today.
"The injury is minor and doctors said he can play in the World Cup match against Sri Lanka on Thursday," said our correspondent Bishwajit Roy, present along with the cricket team entourage at Australia.
At practice today, Mushfiq was hurt on a delivery banged in short from Taskin Ahmed.
Khaled Mahmud, manager of the Bangladesh team, said Mushfiq was taken to a local hospital for X-ray imaging. However, his comments were unavailable after the medical report was obtained.
The former captain and current Test skipper has been a dependable batsman for Bangladesh and a wicketkeeper of international status.
