Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today categorically said the government will take actions as per court directives against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

"If anyone disobeys court order, actions will be taken as per the law," she said alleging that the BNP chief does not abide by court order, law and the constitution.

“We have to follow the court orders,” said Hasina while replying to a supplementary question from Jatiya Party lawmaker Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu during the PM's question-answer session in parliament.

"We will do whatever needed," she added.

Last week a Dhaka court issued arrest warrants against Khaleda in two corruption cases as she skipped the court hearings for four times in a row.

About the non-appearance of the BNP chief in the court today, the premier said she heard from Khaleda's lawyers that she lacks security and that is why she did not go to the court.

The PM said it is very unfortunate that security would have to be given to a person who is killing people by hurling petrol bombs.

The premier warned that the killings will be tried.
