Aman lands in jail, Anwar gets bail

A Dhaka court today sent BNP leader Amanullah Aman to jail after rejecting his bail petitions in four cases filed with Wari Police Station.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh passed the order after the veteran BNP leader surrendered before the court this morning, seeking bail in total 60 violence cases against him.

Till filing the report around 5:00pm, the court was hearing on his bail petitions in the rest cases.

On the other hand, BNP leader MK Anwar secured bail in six out of 10 violence cases filed against him. Hearing on the rest cases were not held today.

Meanwhile, the hearing on another senior BNP leader, Abdul Awal Mintoo's bail petition in a single violence case filed with Paltan Police Station was not held today.

Earlier this morning, the three senior BNP leaders surrendered before separate Dhaka courts after the top court binned their High Court bail in several violence cases against them.
