Arrest warrant for 23 BNP leaders in Paltan case
Arrest warrants have been floated for 23 leaders of BNP, including several of its seniors, as a Dhaka court today took into cognisance of an explosives case.
Among those who were ordered to be arrested, are Abdul Awal Mintoo, ex-chief whip Joynal Abdin Farroque, Barkatullah Bulu and BNP chief’s personal assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas.
Metropolitan Sessions Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla took the case into cognisance, filed with Paltan police, that accuses 53 opposition men including BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The case was filed over an arson attack on a vehicle, by throwing firebombs, in Paltan on January 4, 2015 during BNP’s anti-government movement.
The court set July 11 for submitting reports on the execution of arrest warrants.
