BNP on the brink of ruin: Quader
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the condition of BNP is very “pitiable and it is now on the brink of ruin”.
“The situation of AL or the democracy of the country is not at risk rather BNP itself is now on the road to ruin,” he said.
Quader, also the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, said this as the chief guest at a discussion arranged marking the 27th martyrdom anniversary of Dr Shamsul Alam Khan Milon at Dr Milon point at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) in Dhaka.
On this day in 1990, Dr Milon, the then joint-secretary general of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), was gunned down by some miscreants on Dhaka University campus during the anti-autocracy movement.
BMA organised the programme with its President Dr Jala Mohiuddin in the chair while AL Joint General Secretary Dr Dipu Moni, BMA Secretary General Dr M Ehteshamul Huq Choudhury, former health minister Professor Dr AFM Ruhal Haq, DMC Director Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin, and Selina Akhter, mother of Dr Milon, were present, among others.
Quader said, “Democracy was in the coffin when BNP was in power...Now they are creating anarchy across the country after failing in all issues.”
