Dudu released on bail
BNP Vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu was released from jail today as he secured bail in a case.
Dudu was arrested in Dhaka’s Matsya Bhaban area on February 12. He was heading towards Shahbagh from there on his car when he was picked up, according to the party sources.
The BNP leader walked out of Dhaka central jail in Keraniganj around 2:00pm, Syrul Kabir Khan told The Daily Star.
His arrest came amid on-going detention of a number of BNP leaders and activists throughout the country following demonstrations held by the party protesting the conviction of BNP Chief Khaleda Zia in a corruption case.
BNP alleged that 4,400 leaders and activists have been arrested across the country since January 30.
