No chance to accept those
Terming all seven demands of Jatiya Oikyafront “unrealistic and illogical”, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday said there is no context of accepting any of those.
He said they made the same comment on the demands earlier. “No such condition is prevailing in the country to accept those.”
“There is no scope to accept anti-constitutional demands and there is no time to amend the constitution now,” he added.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, was talking to reporters after a programme on National Road Safety Day at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh.

Quader said the Oikyafront wants a dialogue before the announcement of election schedule, which is “unrealistic, illogical, and unnecessary.”
He said the Election Commission has decided to announce election schedule in the first week of November and that means only 15 days are remaining.
He said people will give befitting reply if BNP wants to carry out subversive activities in the name of rally or movement to realise the demands. Police administration will also take necessary actions, he added.
On October 13, BNP, together with Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Rob) and Nagorik Oikya launched Jatiya Oikyafront to press for their seven-point demand, including holding the next polls under a non-party administration.
