BCL infighting leaves 3 hurt in DU

Three Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men, including a central leader, were injured in a factional clash at Dhaka University today.

The clash ensued following an altercation when some BCL men including Arefin Siddique Sujon, vice president of BCL central committee, asked BCL President Saifur Rahman Sohag and Secretary SM Jakir Hossain about the development of the formation of next BCL council, reports our DU correspondent quoting witnesses.

At one stage, the followers of the BCL president and secretary swooped on them in front of Madhur Canteen on the campus around 3:00pm, leaving Drama and Debate Affairs Secretary of BCL central committee Imrul Hasan Nishu, former central committee member Md Mahbub Khan and activist Maskat Hossan injured.

Contacted, BCL General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain did not like to make any comment over the incident saying that it was their internal matter.
