BNP’s reaction a positive change
BNP’s reaction to Khaleda Zia’s conviction is a distinct difference from the long-held political culture and a positive sign as well.
BNP has showed its strong resentment to the verdict and said it is political motivated. But as everybody anticipated, it did not call any hartal, a refreshing difference from the current political culture.
Rather, BNP has called for demonstration across the country tomorrow.
Since restoration of democracy in 1991, both AL and BNP had called hartal frequently and often non-stop strikes, sometimes on flimsy ground.
In recent times, BNP had enforced a countrywide non-stop road blockade for about there months after the government had prevented it from holding a march towards Dhaka in January 2015.
