Fakhrul out of danger: Doctors
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was ruled out of danger by doctors this morning, after he was hospitalised yesterday with symptoms of a heart attack.
His angiogram report came in this morning, conducted under the supervision of Dr Mominuzzaman, at United Hospitals, and it showed no cardiac problems.
Syrul Kabir Khan, a staff of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s press wing, quoted the doctors to tell The Daily Star: “Doctors say he has no cardiological problems. He is now out of danger.”
Last reported, Fakhrul was resting at a cabin of the hospital. However, it was unclear as to when he will be released from the hospital.
Veteran politician Fakhrul was having chest pains and sweating profusely as he was on the way to attend a programme in Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) yesterday. He was hospitalised immediately.
His sudden illness plunged the ranks of the party into fresh concerns as the party chief Khaleda Zia is currently behind bars after being convicted in a graft case.
