JP lawmaker calls for Muhith's resignation
A Jatiya Party lawmaker today called for Finance Minister AMA Muhith’s resignation at parliament alleging that he failed to maintain discipline in the financial sector.
Speaking at a discussion, a lawmaker of the main opposition Jatiya Party and the party’s former secretary general Ziauddin Bablu, placed the demand.
“Finance Minister Muhith has admitted that there has been a huge theft in the banking sector. After such an admission, he should not hold the position of finance minister. He must resign.”
He was speaking at a discussion on the budget for 2016-17 placed by Muhith in June.
Meanwhile, Bablu also condemned and criticised the recent “gunfights” that led to the death of two militants – who were allegedly involved with blogger murders.
