Khaleda to appear before court for self defence tomorrow
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will appear before a trial court tomorrow for placing her self defence in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.
Advocate Sanaullah Miah, a lawyer of the former prime minister, told The Daily Star that she will appear tomorrow before the judge in the case hearing.
Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman, of the Special Court-5 will hear the self defence.
In July 2008, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case with Ramna Police Station accusing Khaleda, her eldest son Tarique, and four others of misappropriating over Tk 2.10 crore that had come as grants from a foreign bank for orphans.
