Clash in presence of law minister: over 250 sued, 6 arrested in Brahmanbaria
A case has been filed over Friday's clash between two Awami League groups at a programme in Brahmanbaria's Kasba where Law Minister Anisul Huq was present.
Six people have so far been arrested in connection with the clash, according to a press release of district police.
Sub-inspector of Kasba Police Station, Md Anwar Hossain, filed the case under the Speedy Trial Act yesterday against 28 named and 200-250 unknown persons for violating law and order, confirmed Superintendent of Brahmanbaria Police Mohammad Anisur Rahman.
Inspector (investigation) of the police station, Md Zakir Hossain, has been given the charge of probing into the incident, our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports, quoting the SP.

The supporters of the current Kasba municipality mayor and those of a mayoral aspirant attacked each other over establishing dominance in presence of the law minister, leaving 20 people injured.
Twelve motorcycles and some establishments were also vandalised during the clash.
Law Minister Anisul Huq, also lawmaker from Brahmanbaria-4 constituency, went to Kasba on Friday for distributing smart NID cards at Kasba upazila parishad auditorium and to inaugurate a mural of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
