Forget internal disputes: GM Quader to JP leaders
Jatiya Party Co-chairman GM Quader today urged the party’s leaders and activists to get united keeping all internal disputes aside in a bid to boost organisational discipline within the party.
While exchanging views with the party’s leaders and activists at JP Chairman HM Ershad’s Banani office, Quader also said he wants to strengthen the party with cooperation from rank and file of the at all levels.
"I'll be there in politics in the interest of the country and I want to do politics with all. We all must get united to restore discipline in the party," he said.
In a dramatic move, JP boss HM Ershad, also leader of the opposition in parliament on April 6, reinstated his younger brother GM Quader as the party’s chairman in his absence.
He took the decision just two days after Quader was reinstated as the party's co-chairman, fueling the party's internal feud.
Ershad who is known as the most unpredictable character in the country’s political arena for his flip-flop character, relieved GM Quader of Jatiya Party's co-chairman post and its organisational duty on March 22.
Justifying his brother's decision to pick him as his successor, Quader said Ershad will remain the party chairman and the top-most leader as long as he is alive.
"But people in the northern region think Jatiya Party must be led by a leader from HM Ershad's family and Rangpur in his absence."
He also claimed the party’s leaders and activists in other regions also have the same desire.
Earlier, Ershad had accused Quader of failing to run the party properly and creating divisions in it.
