Mirza Abbas’ nomination for Dhaka-9 ‘not accepted’

BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas today alleged that the Election Commission did not accept his nomination paper for Dhaka-9 constituency.

“The returning officer did not accept his nomination paper for Dhaka-9,” Mizanur Rahman Sohel, personal secretary of Mirza Abbas, told The Daily Star.

On the other hand, the BNP leader has submitted his nomination paper for Dhaka-8 constituency and his wife Afroza Abbas submitted nomination paper for Dhaka-9, Sohel also said.

Abbas submitted the nominations through his representatives, he added.

The Daily Star could not get any comment of the commission in this regard.
