‘Quader to be shifted to cabin by next week’
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, now undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, will be shifted to a cabin from Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital by the next week.
“His condition is improving on completion of a successful bypass surgery there. If it is continued, he (Quader) would be shifted to a cabin by the next week,” said a press release issued by the Road Transport and Bridges Ministry today.
The bypass surgery of Quader, also Road, Transport and Bridges Minister, was done yesterday.
Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) briefed relatives of the Awami League leader at BSMMU quoting the medical board formed for treating the minister, the press release added.
Earlier on March 3, Quader was admitted to BSMMU following breathing complications, but tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery.
He was flown to Singapore the next day for treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
