Test popularity through neutral polls, BNP to AL
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today called upon the ruling Awami League to examine its popularity in the next general election without influencing police and administration.
Fakhrul came up with the call while talking to reporters after placing wreaths at BNP founder Ziaur Rahman’s grave in Dhaka.
Stressing the need for a level playing field in the upcoming election, he said, “No credible election is possible to be held under Awami League and thus a neutral supportive polls time government is needed.”
He also threatened that his party will boycott the next general polls if it is held under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led administration.
