Unite to oust fascist govt: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today called out to the people to unite for ousting the government who is “forcefully holding the country’s power”.

“We will continue until the establishment of the unity and elimination of the fascist government,” Fakhrul said after placing wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar marking International Mother Language Day today.

Fakhrul also said: “We will build up a mass movement to free our party Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail”.

“Today we observing the Language Martyrs Day at a time when all customs and democratic institutions are being destroyed. Peoples’ rights are being violated and voting rights taken away. There is no security of peoples’ lives,” the senior BNP leader said.

He added, “We are observing the day (21st February) with grief and sadness”.

Khaleda is now in old central jail in Dhaka following a verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case. She was sentenced to five years impriosnment.
