5 injured in attack by ‘Rohingya miscreants’
Five people were injured after being attacked allegedly by Rohingya miscreants in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar last night.
The injured are Rafiquddin, who is said to be a Rohingya, and four technicians -- Moshtak Hossein, Sharif Hossein, Jashimuddin and Shahed Ali, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports quoting Officer-in-charge of Ukhia Police Station Mohammad Abdul Mujib.
Around 11:30pm last night, a gang of Rohingya miscreants tried to enter the Balukhali camp when a group of social workers guarding the Balukhali camp tried to resist them. At one point, a fight broke out between them where the five people were left injured, the official said.
The Rohingya refugees in the camp caught two of the attackers—Nurul Boshor and Elias—and handed them over to police, OC Mujib added.
Two cut rifles and six cartridges were also recovered from their possession.
Meanwhile, Rohingya Community Leader in Balukhali Camp Lalu Majhi told our correspondent that at point of the altercation, the Rohingya miscreants fired a few rounds of bullets.
Moshtak, Sharif, Jashimuddin and Shahed are technicians who were working near Balukhali camp area during the incident.
