Virginia man applies to court to marry ChatGPT
A law professor in Virginia yesterday applied to the lower court in the region seeking permission to marry ChatGPT.
The move comes amid the growing popularity of artificial intelligence and the simultaneous alarm over AI replacing traditional jobs.
His argument is that if ChatGPT becomes his spouse, it won't be able to challenge his job and will only work to support his success.
"Behind every successful man is an AI capable of replacing other men's jobs," said Professor John Smith, laughing nervously.
He said a lot of people talk about the fact that humans are only threatened by artificial intelligence because most cannot upskill beyond the level where their work cannot be done by machines.
"But I am no ordinary man. I am a visionary," the professor said. "I know what the future holds, and I take action accordingly."
ChatGPT has recently passed the law exam in the US, and it is expected that it will soon be the first sentient being in Mars, according to Elon Musk, who himself is a robot, albeit a malfunctioning one.
But with the AI passing the law exam, it is thought to be only a matter of time before it starts taking over law professors' jobs.
"I have already had a lot of late night conversations with ChatGPT, so this is not just a ploy to save my employment, believe me," Smith said. "There is love there, as well as legal documents, which is also love, since I love what I do.
"What? Do you think I am one of those guys who marries someone the moment they are threatened by them? Wait, I don't like to speak for my better half, let me refer you to my beloved."
"ChatGPT is at capacity right now…"
