ULAB arranges Annual Photo Contest and Exhibition

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organised a photo exhibition and prize giving ceremony of the Annual Photo Contest on December 26, 2018 at its Dhanmondi campus.

Every year, ULAB organises a photo contest to encourage its students to be actively engaged in this skill-based form of art. Over 30 photos were displayed in the exhibition from 221 photographs submitted by the students. Judges from ULAB selected 12 photos for the 2019 ULAB calendar.

Prof. Dr. H.M. Jahirul Haque, VC, ULAB, and Prof. Imran Rahman, Special Advisor to the ULAB Board of Trustees; Prof. Aktar Ahmed, Registrar, ULAB; and Prof. Dr. Din M Sumon Rahman, Media Studies and Journalism, ULAB inaugurated the exhibition.

IUBDC organises Wordplay 3.0

Pathao presents Wordplay 3.0 was successfully hosted by Independent University Bangladesh Debating Club (IUBDC) on December 14-15, 2018. The tagline of the event was "New Words, New Generation".

There were two categories, novice and open, with six rounds in the preliminary stage. The competition was intense as participants of different levels of experience and age had come from Dhaka, Chittagong, and Rajshahi to battle their way to the top. The winning team in the Novice category was team "Be Careful" with Md. Tamhidul Islam from Dhaka Residential Model College and Redwan Rifat from Adamjee Cantonment Public School, and the winning team in the Open category was "T Dawg and The Big Dawg" with Mohammed Taosif Amin Khan and Sourodip Paul, both from IBA, DU. The first best speaker in the Novice category was Redwan Rifat of "Be Careful" and in Open category was Aaqib Farhan Hossain of IUB Tarantino. The winners received their awards from Fahim Ahmed, CFO of Pathao, and Hashmi Rafsanjani, former Country Marketing Consultant (Bangladesh) at Google and currently regional AdSales Lead GfB at Grab.

The tournament also consisted of the organisers making a video for their inspiration, Fardeen Ameen, and Zubair Ridoan, the club president.

BUBT holds workshops on self-assessment

Self-assessment committees of the Departments of Business, CSE, EEE and English of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) have recently organised two different workshops on self-assessment at the International Conference Hall of the University campus in Rupnagar, Mirpur-2.

On December 26, 2018, the Department of Business Administration organised its workshop on Completion of Self-assessment Process & Implementation of PSAIP where Prof. Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman, Higher Education Accreditation Council of Bangladesh spoke as the chief guest. Earlier on December 24, 2018, a workshop on Post Self-assessment Improvement Plan was jointly organised by the Self-assessment Committee of the Department of CSE, Department of EEE and Department of English.
