UIU holds Women Marketeers Day Season 2.0
"Women Marketeers Day Season 2.0" presented by UIU Marketing Forum was held recently at United International University (UIU). Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, VC of UIU presided over the programme.
Samia Rahman, Head of Current Affairs of News 24, was present as the guest of honour while Zara Jabeen Mahbub, Country Director of Kazi IT; Nusrat Jahan, Head of Marketing of Hemas Consumer Brands Ltd; Nasima Akter Nisha, Joint Secretary of e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh; and Moniza Islam, Brand Manager of Nitol Electronics Ltd. attended the programme as guest speakers.
Nuzhat Shahzadi, Segment Manager of Banglalink, Nabila Karim, Vice President of Virtuoso Ltd and Sifat Sultana Sifu, Territory Officer of Nestlé Bangladesh joined the programme as panel discussants. The speakers discussed about women empowerment and how to ensure women's full participation and leadership in the workplace.

US Ambassador visits CIU
US Ambassador to the People's Republic of Bangladesh Earl R. Miller paid a courtesy call to VC of Chittagong Independent University (CIU) Prof. Dr. Mahfuzul Hoque Chowdhury at his office on April 16, 2019.
The Ambassador thanked the VC for hosting American Corner Chittagong at CIU campus and appreciated the role of CIU in promoting higher education in the community. William Moealer, Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs, US Embassy Dhaka, and Iverson Long, Environment, Science, Technology and Health Officer, US Embassy Dhaka accompanied him during this visit.
The team later visited American Corner Chittagong and joined the screening session of "2nd April", a telefilm by Aakar Ekaar Cholochitra on autism awareness. Dr. Azizur Rahman Siddique, Civil Surgeon Chattagram; Prof. Dr. Basana Muhuri, Chittagong Medical College; Anjuman Banu Lima, Acting Registrar, CIU; Cumar Doyel Dey, Deputy Director, Administration; and Rooma Dass, Asst. Director, American Corner Chittagong were present in the occasion.
DPS STS School Dhaka celebrates Graduation Day
DPS STS School Dhaka celebrated its Graduation Ceremony 2018-19 for the 114 A Level graduates under the Cambridge International Curriculum on April 19, 2019.
The programme welcomed parents of graduates, teachers, distinguished guests from Cambridge Assessment International Education, British Council, and members of the STS Educational Board to the Senior School Campus. Vice Principal Madhu Wal presented inspiring words for the new graduates and guests.
In her speech, she acknowledged the flurry of emotions, anticipation and excitement these individuals are experiencing and reminded them of all that they have learned from their parents, teachers and life that they would apply in the days ahead. The students were also reminded of their responsibilities to society, country and the world where they would shine and lead the way to a new world order.
The valedictorian, Mysha Ibnat, expressed her deepest gratitude to the parents, teachers, the Principal, Vice Principal and the DPS Board for love and support. She made a special mention of Mathematics teacher Asish Kumar Saha who passed away recently after fighting with cancer and expressed her affection and affinity for her batch-mates. The guests and graduates enjoyed music and dance performances by the Middle Section students. The ceremony concluded with the Principal, Harsh Wal, awarding diplomas to the graduates.
BUBT organises seminar on IoT and 4.0 Industrial Revolution
A seminar on IoT and 4.0 Industrial Revolution was organised by Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) in its International Conference Hall, Rupnagar, Mirpur 2 on April 20, 2019. Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of the university arranged this seminar.
AFM Sarwar Kamal, former Chairman of BUBT Trust graced the programme as the chief guest while Prof. Md. Abu Saleh, VC, BUBT presided over the seminar. Taif Bin Yousuf, Executive Director, IT & OGV, Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) spoke as the keynote speaker.
S. Asadul Hashem, General Manager, IT, MGI conductedthe technical session presenting slides and elaborated IoT. Prof. Dr. M. Ameer Ali, Chairman, Department of CSE, BUBT delivered the welcome speech. Tahmina Mustafa, Director, MGI was present in the seminar.Distinguished guests, members of BUBT Trust, Treasurer, Director of IQAC-BUBT, Deans of different faculties, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Joint Registrar, Chairmen of different departments, Proctor, officials, teachers and students attended the seminar.
International Business Club of NSU hosts "Innoventure 2019"
For the first time ever, North South University (NSU) International Business Club organised their flagship event, "Innoventure 2019", presented by Lend and powered by Ultimate Fun Factory Bashundhara. Over 250 teams registered for the competition from 30 different universities.
MA Mannan MP, Minister of Planning, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was present as the chief guest. Benajir Ahmed and MA Kashem, Members, BOT of NSU were present as the special guests. VC of NSU, Prof. Dr. Atique Islam presided over the prize-giving event.
In his speech, MA Mannan MP said, "Innovation is a matter of fun and festivity. I believe that now Bangladesh has a chance to enter the twenty-first century with success in the hands of a new generation."
VC of NSU, Prof. Dr. Atique Islam said, "This kind of competition is perfect for the learners and future leaders. NSU engages to produce global citizens who has the abilities to go any country and work anywhere in the world."
Among others, Pro-VC (Designate), NSU, Prof. Dr. GU Ahsan, Deans of different schools, Directors, administrative heads, faculty members, senior officials, teachers, and students were also present during this event.
GUB holds certificate awarding ceremony for teachers
The certificate awarding ceremony of Certificate Course in Teaching and Learning (CTL) of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) was held at its IQAC Auditorium on April 17, 2019. The programme was chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, VC of GUB while Prof. Abdul Mannan, Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) was present as chief guest.
Prof. Mannan handed over certificates among 28 GUB teachers who participated in the course. Speaking on the occasion, GUB VC said both students and teachers need to improve their skills for the development of quality education. GUB Pro-VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fayyaz Khan; Treasurer Md. Shahid Ullah; Deans Prof. Golam Ahmed Faruqui and Prof. Abdur Razzaque; and heads of the different departments of the university were also present at the event.
It is to be mentioned here that, under the supervision of Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) the programme is divided in two phases. Duration of the first phase is four whole days and the duration of second phase is three months (one day per week).
