Heritage School holds robotics workshop
Recently, a day-long robotics workshop was held at Heritage School, Narayanganj in collaboration with Thrust Robotics School. More than 50 students of Heritage School participated in the workshop. The students were shown various projects on robotics. Various sensors such as solar sensors, oil sensors, gas sensors, fire sensors and Arduino were shown with different types of projects. The students were given an idea of what works for these projects and what else can be done with them. In addition to this project, the students were also given ideas about various aspects of technology so that superstition cannot spread among them. The most interesting part of the workshop was the drone flying over the school's ground which brought great joy to the students. At the end of the workshop, Mohammad Salim Miah, Director of Heritage School thanked and wished Thrust Robotics School.
NSU holds faculty orientation programme of Fall 2019
A three-day long faculty orientation programme for Fall 2019 was held at North South University (NSU) on September 17-19, 2019 organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The orientation programme was attended by new faculty members from different departments.
At the beginning of the orientation program, the Director of IQAC Prof. Dr. Nazmun Nahar delivered the welcome address to the new faculty members. VC of NSU Prof. Atiqul Islam in his speech underscored the importance of faculty training programme and discussed about the roles and responsibilities of a teacher. Pro-VC of NSU Prof. Dr. Ismail Hossain emphasised on effective teaching methods and inclusiveness in the classroom environment where all students get necessary attention from the faculty members.
In the span of three days, there were different sessions focusing on administrative rules and regulations at NSU, teaching and learning philosophy, Outcome Based Education (OBE) system, Blooms Taxonomy, research opportunities at NSU, effective communication and delivery and related issues. There was a special segment on the usage of library resources and IT Services at NSU. It is the mission of IQAC to establish and nurture an environment at NSU that is congenial to quality teaching and learning. The new faculty orientation programme helps in fulfilling that mission. The event ended with vote of thanks from the IQAC Director and the participants also thanked NSU authority for such an initiative.
MACES hosts annual multi-country education meets
MACES, a leading education consultancy firm in Bangladesh, will host its annual multi-country education meets in Dhaka on October 4 and in Chattogram on October 5, 2019. Students will get a chance to meet university officials representing more than 75 institutions in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Malaysia at these events.
The purpose of organising a large scale event such as this one is to provide students the opportunity to speak directly with universities, find out more about them and clear any confusion they may have. MACES aims to create a platform for the exchange of ideas between Bangladeshi students and foreign universities at their education meet.
These events held annually are participated by 2000 students interested to study abroad. The events are free for the attendants but students are encouraged to register for their participation at www.studyabroadwithmaces.com.
CE Club of WUB arranges reception, farewell and membership certificate giving ceremony
The Civil Engineering Club, World University of Bangladesh (WUB) organised a freshers' reception to the admitted fall semester students, farewell to the outgoing graduate students, and CE Club Membership certificate giving ceremony on September 17, 2019 at the auditorium of WUB main campus. The ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury, Founder and Vice Chancellor, WUB as the chief guest. While Prof. Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro-VC was present as special guest. Prof. Dr. SM Shirazi, CEng, Chief Patron, WUB Civil Engineering Club chaired the programme.
Crests and certificates were given to outgoing students and CE Club members by the VC. Newly admitted students were welcomed in the university. The programme was concluded with a cultural programme.
Registrar of WUB, Heads of the departments, faculties and students of Civil Engineering were also present in this ceremony.
IUB-SBCC hosts HYD MUN 2019
Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) - School of Business Communication Club (SBCC) is proudly hosted the "IUB-SBCC presents HYD MUN 2019" from September 19-21, 2019.
This was an international conference of delegates from various prestigious schools, colleges and universities of Bangladesh and international participants of more than five countries including India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Participants assumed the roles of country representatives in committees simulated with the exact rules of procedures as followed in the United Nations. Every delegate played out the role of diplomats representing his or her country passionately therefore at the end of every day's committee sessions there were cultural performances which is a showdown of the delegates' talents aside from their diplomatic skills.
This conference was a monumental step in the revolution of the MUN circuit in Bangladesh.
UIU organises Fall 2019 orientation
United International University (UIU) organised an orientation programme to welcome the newly enrolled students of Fall 2019 at its auditorium yesterday.
Students from School of Science and Engineering (SoSE) and School of Business and Economics (SoBE) took part in the orientation programme where Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, VC of UIU was present as the chief guest.
Welcoming the newly admitted students and their parents, the VC called upon the students to capitalise their student life by becoming the best professionals in respective fields. Highlighting the academic rules of the University, Prof. A S M Salahuddin, Registrar of UIU, has assured of extending all-out cooperation to the newly admitted students. Deans, Head of Departments, Directors, teachers and staff, among others, were present. Director of Career Counseling Center delivered the concluding remarks in the programme.
Kids Castle, a creative learning centre for pre-schoolers, recently displayed crafts items made by its students at an exhibition in Midas Centre in the capital's Dhanmondi. The stall generated interest among parents, students and visitors to the exhibition who enjoyed the children's creations.
