The 4th convocation of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) was held virtually on June 19, 2021. Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP was the key person of the convocation ceremony as the representative of the President and Chancellor of the university and conferred degrees on the graduates.

Prof. Dr Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of Bangladesh Accreditation Council – BAC – was present as the convocation speaker while Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, MP, Deputy Minister of Education, and Prof. Dr Muhammed Alamgir, member of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) delivered their speeches as special guests. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mamun, Chairman, BOT; Prof. Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, VC; Prof. Dr Md. Abdur Razzaque, Pro-VC; and Prof. Dr Md. Fayzur Rahman, Treasurer, also spoke on the occasion.

A total of 1,464 graduates received degrees in this convocation. Six students received the Chancellor's Gold Medal, and thirteen were awarded the Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal.

Dr Dipu Moni said, "The government understands the importance of education and thoroughly emphasizes education for all. We are giving utmost priority to ensure facilities for people from all walks of life so that they can have access to the amenities, and we can ensure their education from the primary level up to the highest stage."

Mohammed Abdullah Al Mamun explained how convocations are important for every student. He expects that the graduates of GUB will soon start their professional lives.

Prof. Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir said, "Green University of Bangladesh has always been focused on renewal, reformation and innovation. We emphasize inclusive education, and aim at producing graduates who are ethically driven, socially responsible and academically sound." He expects the graduates of GUB will utilize their knowledge and skills for the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of the country.

Prof. Dr Md. Abdur Razzaque said, "We are presenting our graduates to the nation in the year that represents the 100th birth anniversary of the greatest leader the world has ever seen, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."

All the members of the BOT, Syndicate, Academic Council, distinguished guests, guardians and parents, ambassadors, journalists along with respected faculty members and students were present in the convocation ceremony.
