IUB hosts 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering
The 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE) was hosted by Independent University Bangladesh. The inaugural ceremony of ICAEE took place on September 26, 2019 at the IUB Auditorium in Bashundhara R/A, organised by the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
Dr. Saifur Rahman, President, IEEE Power and Energy Society & Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Virginia Tech, USA was the chief guest of inaugural session. A Matin Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB, Chief Patron, ICAEE 2019 and Prof. Milan Pagon, VC (Acting) also delivered their speeches to the dignitaries. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Conference General Chair and Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section and Professor of BUET remained present and talked to the audience.
Prof. Mohammed Anwer, Dean, SECS at IUB gave welcome address while Dr. Mustafa Habib Chowdhury, Organizing Chair, ICAEE 2019 delivered vote of thanks.
This year a total of 550 papers were submitted from 19 countries to present in the conference. After a rigorous double-blind review process, only 171 papers were accepted for the presentation. During the three-day conference, eminent professionals from home and abroad chaired different sessions.
Prof. Joyashree Roy, 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winning team member of IPCC and Bangabandhu Chair Professor, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand presented her paper titled "Strengthening Global Climate Response: What is in it for Bangladesh".
