ROBU marks the ending of Joyjatra’50 TechFest

On March 23, 2021, Robotics Club of BRAC University (ROBU) drew the closure of "Joyjatra'50 TechFest" powered by ACME, co-powered by Optimax Communications Ltd., the biggest online tech carnival of the year. This event was held on the golden jubilee of the independence of Bangladesh to create an atmosphere worthy of celebrating the massive achievement. The event combined the themes of Bangladeshi nationalism and the tech revolution since independence.

With immense support and enthusiasm even before its opening, this adventure raised its curtain successfully on the March 18. After that, the competitions started where participants from different colleges and universities battled out to test their skills in three segments: the "Idea Movement"- idea competition, "Code Platoon"- programming contest, and Analytical Olympiad. The skilled Campus Ambassadors who worked on drawing participants from their respective institutions for this event are the ones who should be thanked for showing extraordinary leadership. After rounds of exciting competitions among the participants and careful deliberation by the judges, both the champions of this event and the best campus ambassadors were crowned.

This event pulled down its curtains on March 25 with a closing ceremony where Dr David Dowland, Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad, Dr. Md. Khalilur Rhaman and Moin Mostakim were guests for the night.

The competitive tech event hosted by ROBU was successful in consigning the Bangladeshi spirit of nationalism into the young minds. As the greatest Bengali of this century Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahaman advised, "I have given you independence, now go and preserve it", this occasion preserved the consciousness of independence among the youth even in these complicated times.
