The Department of English Studies at State University of Bangladesh (SUB) observed its annual English Department Day on January 5, at the university's permanent campus in Kanchan, Purbachal.

The programme started with a welcome speech by DES Acting Department Head Touhida Humaira. After that, DES Advisor Dr Sayeedur Rahman gave an insightful speech talking about the challenges and achievements the department has experienced during the pandemic. 

SUB VC Prof. Dr Anwarul Kabir, and Acting Registrar and Architecture Department Head Dr Sajid Bin Doza distributed prizes among the winners of the photography and story writing competitions. Finally, Prof. Dr Anwarul gave his speech as the chief guest. 

This was followed by a cultural programme to mark the end of the event.
